SRNA Support

The VCU Department of Nurse Anesthesia recognizes and thanks the many individuals and organizations that provide career development and financial support for our student cohorts.

NAFA

  • Donates equipment and technology to VCU Nurse Anesthesia distances sites at four locations across Virginia
    • Outfitted third-year and specialty-area students recently with 65 Butterfly IQs, which are portable ultrasound probes that connect to mobile devices; the nearly $165,000 gift allows for guided procedures and advanced diagnostics at the patient’s bedside
  • Invites students to give podium presentations to disseminate their doctoral evidence-based research at national NAFA conferences
  • Funds travel and registration costs for SRNAs to attend NAFA and other specialty conferences, which provide additional learning and networking opportunities with future employers and peers
  • Invites SRNAs to serve as live models and assistants in ultrasound workshops to demonstrate the latest techniques and best practices taught at VCU while reinforcing their learning
